What is Hashtag???

A hashtag or this symbol โ€œ#โ€ as it is more commonly known has become an integral part of social media.

A hashtag is a label for content. It helps others who are interested in a certain topic, quickly find content on that same topic.

Hashtags are used mostly on social media sites. ย They rocketed to fame on Twitter. ย But now you can use hashtags on other social platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Google+

Anyone sharing content on a relevant topic can add the hashtag label to their message. ย Others searching for that topic, can search for that label to find other messages on that same social media platform.

Hashtags for such situations also provide a way for the public to express their sentiment ย โ€” something many of us feel compelled to do in the case of a disaster. ย When it comes to natural disasters, a hashtag is like an information lifeline.

How to Hashtag?

  • No Spaces Allowed
A hashtag can be a single word, an abbreviation, an invented combination of letters and numbers, or a phrase. ย If it is a phrase, there can be no spaces between words. You canโ€™t have punctuation or symbols in your hashtag. Numbers are OK, but you must also have at least one letter with the numbers โ€” hashtags cannot consist entirely of numbers
  • Start With the # Symbol
To create one, start with a hashtag symbol # and follow it directly with letters and sometimes numbers. The symbol # is called various things, it depends where are you in the world. In the United States and Canada, it is called aย number sign or sometimes a pound sign.
  • Create Your Own Hashtagย
Anyone can create a hashtag. ย Iโ€™ve created numerous hashtags over the years. ย You could create one of your own or several if you wish. Usually, you add it to the end of messages. ย But you could add it anywhere in the message that makes sense, as long as itโ€™s readable. You are not required to register a hashtag anywhere.
  • Make Hashtags Unique
If you think youโ€™ve invented a hashtag thatโ€™s completely new, do a search first on the social platform you intend to use it on. ย We find that about 25% of the time, the hashtag we want to use is already being used for some other purpose.
  • Make Hashtags Easy to Remember and Understand
Keep hashtags as short as possible.Itโ€™s best if a hashtag is an understandable word, phrase or abbreviation. Hashtags that are long, hard to pronounce or hard to remember, will be hard for people to use, too.

  • Everyone loves to take photos
Most business owners find it hard to create contents for promoting their business. For marketing purposes, it seems that they canโ€™t come up with good words to say to attract more customers. But it is different with taking photos โ€“ everyone is always ready to capture anything with their lenses. Thus, promotion in social networks, using pictures, is easier.

The nice images will make even the most uninteresting products and services look really cool. Parade your products using Instagram and you will be able to enhance or give excellent personality to your brand.

  • It is easy to gain followers

TIPS of Using Hashtag

#1: Place hashtags in the caption for the most impressions

  • Adding hashtags in the caption almost guarantees youโ€™ll get more impressions, regardless of the size of your Instagram account.
  • No matter if your account has less than 5K followers or more than 100K, there seems to be the same recipe.

#2: Use hashtags in the first comment if you have a large follower count

  • Long story short, weโ€™ve discovered that big Instagram profiles (more than 100K followers) have the best average reach rate when placing hashtags in the first comment.
  • However, ย smaller accounts (up to 100K followers) have a better reach rate when placing them in the caption.

#3: Hide your caption hashtags

  • Hiding your caption hashtags may help the post look cleaner, less spammy and uncluttered, eliminating any chance that your hashtags steal your messageโ€™s spotlight.
  • But first things first – what are these hidden hashtags and how can you benefit from doing this?ย
  • In short โ€œhiding your hashtagsโ€ means creating some space between your message and the hashtags, so that the hashtags can only be seen once you select the โ€œmoreโ€ option.

#4: Donโ€™t hide the hashtags used in the first comment

  • As opposed to the strategy of posting hidden hashtags in the caption, hiding them in the comment is not such a good idea.
  • When using hashtags in the first comment, most brands like to show the hashtagsย – meaning theyโ€™re not using the dot and line-break formula explained above.
  • Apparently,ย the engagement rate per post is higher for posts with shown hashtags in the first comment, which proves this method to be efficient.

#5. Best formulas for peak Instagram Engagement

  • Small profiles, with under 5,000 followers perform better overall when using 6 hidden hashtags in the caption.
  • Profiles that are a little bit bigger, with between 5,000 and 10,000 followers, might want to use 5 shown hashtags in the first comment, which has proved to bring higher engagement, despite the reach and impression rates showing otherwise.
  • In this case, itโ€™s important to keep track of your KPIs. If engagement is what you need, then go with it.
  • Profiles with 10K to 50K followers need to use as few as 2 hashtags and hide them in the caption. This will bring the best engagement, impressions and reach.
  • Accounts with over 50K followers, but under 100K followers should try using 8 hidden hashtags in the caption.
  • However, the larger profiles that have more than 100,000 followers can hit their best engagement, reach and impression rates when placing 6 shown hashtags in the first comment.

Wrapping Up

  • Increasing your likes, getting more followers and boosting engagement rates on your Instagram page is no easy job.
  • Try to find your own path to achieve this and set up measurable goals.
  • Also, donโ€™t take anything at face value, see what works in your own case. While the above works in most cases, each Instagram audience in different and may interact differently with your posts.
  • So how were you using your hashtags? And how many hashtags do you typically use?

Clickbait

Clickbaitย is a form ofย False Advertisement, which uses hyperlink text or aย thumbnail link that is designed to attract attention and entice users to follow that link and read, view, or listen to the linked piece of onlineย content, with a defining characteristic of being deceptive, typicallyย sensationalizedย orย misleading.

The problem with these tempting offers and headlines is that, waste of your time, some have an even more sinister purpose. And theyโ€™re achieving their ends well. Here are some of the biggest dangers posed by clickbait:

  • Dangerous linksย can host malware and Trojans. If the SHOCKING headline you clicked on doesnโ€™t directly host the online threat, the next link might, and you will be shocked indeed.
  • Content flippingย is the old bait-and-switch method of using a post or page that has achieved vitality and switching the content for more malicious purposes.
  • Free IQ tests and credit scoreย checks can be examples ofย phishing.ย You are asked to fill in personal information in order to get your results.
  • Click-jackingย is one of the more subtle methods used by hackers and scammers. Clicking on a button that advertises one thing but really does another, without the user or the site ownerโ€™s knowledge.
  • Hidden opt-in conditionsย for quizzes and contests from your social profile can allow the provider to access and use your personal data in any way they wish. In fact, you might want to check your privacy settings on your social profiles now and see if any apps you no longer use still have access to your profile.
  • It doesnโ€™t stop with your personal profile and information. One personal profile being hijacked is enough toย endanger your friends, flooding their news-feeds with links to scams and dangerous links.
ย The film is an exploration of the pressures on people to have performative identities and to seek popularity. The film satirizes not only social media, but the way in which social media is used to sell advertising for mundane products, specifically the invented radioactive toaster pastry, Toot Strudels.

A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was an aerospace scientist who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. He was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu and studied physics and aerospace engineering. He spent the next four decades as a scientist and science administrator, mainly at the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and was intimately involved in India’s civilian space program and military missile development efforts. He thus came to be known as the Missile Man of India. Kalam was elected as the 11th President of India in 2002, widely referred to as the “People’s President”. He was awarding as a Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor.

โ€œAll birds find shelter during a rain. But the eagle avoids rain by flying above the clouds. Problems are common, but attitude makes the difference!โ€

โ€” A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

early life:
Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 to a Tamil Muslim family in the pilgrimage center of Rameswaram on Pamban Island. His father Jainulabdeen was a boat owner and imam of a local mosque; his mother Ashiamma was a housewife. His father owned a ferry that took Hindu pilgrims back and forth between Rameswaram the now uninhabited Dhamsukhodi. Kalam was the youngest of four brothers and one sister in his family.  Their business had involved trading groceries between the mainland and the island and to and from Sri Lanka, as well as ferrying pilgrims. As a result, the family acquired the title of “Mara Kalam Iyakkivar”, which over the years became shortened to “Marakier.”

EARLY EDUCATION:
In his school years, Kalam had average grades but was described as a bright and hardworking student who had a strong desire to learn. He spent hours on his studies, especially mathematics. While Kalam was working on a senior class project, the Dean was dissatisfied with his lack of progress and threatened to revoke his scholarship unless the project was finished within the next three days. Kalam met the deadline, impressing the Dean, who later said to him, “I was putting you under stress and asking you to meet a difficult deadline”. He narrowly missed achieving his dream of becoming a fighter pilot, as he placed ninth in qualifiers, and only eight positions were available in the IAF.

Career as a scientist:
He started his career by designing a small hovercraft, but remained unconvinced by his choice of a job at DRDO.  Kalam was also part of the INCOSPAR Committee working under Vikram Sarabhai, the renowned space scientist. n 1969, Kalam was transferred to the ISRO, where he was the project director of India’s first Satellite Launch Vehicle, which successfully deployed the Rohini satellite in near-earth orbit in July 1980; Kalam had first started work on an expandable rocket project independently at DRDO in 1965.

โ€œThis is my belief: that through difficulties and problems God gives us the opportunity to grow. So when your hopes and dreams and goals are dashed, search among the wreckage, you may find a golden opportunity hidden in the ruins.โ€
